God Only Know What I be Without you

My mother is the fucking coolest person alive. For a more detailed story of why please refer back to my second post.
                                                           (I'm not usually that orange.)

Tomorrow is her 54th Birthday. She is so rad and hip and young and beautiful and I can not wait to hug her this weekend. As you may or may not know, the only reason I know shit about shit is thanks to her. She has such a great mind and is so into music and literature and all the beautiful things in life. Two of our favorite songs of all time are on this Album. As I said earlier, Blackbird was my lullaby but as I grew up momma and I started to adopt God only Knows as the anthem of our friendship. I owe everything to this woman and I can imagine loving any person more. My heart is exploding just thinking about how amazing she is.

This is one of her Favorite bands/albums ever. Happy Birthday Mommy. I love you.
Tomorrow, you will get an even better Denise Grier Tribute.
Favorite Sounds- God Only Knows, Wouldn't it be Nice, Here Today

its better to be alive than rich!

Its not surprise what sounds I enjoy: circusy, bright, lots of xylophones and clapping. If you have ever met me it is also no surprise that I LOVE the Magnetic Fields.

Due to the fact that this band makes me want to clap and stomp and dance and reminds me in an uncanny way of The Magnetic Fields, I really dig um! I present you "Suburban Kids with Biblical Names"

So. Much. Fun. What could be better than a Sweedish Twee pop band?! I can only think of a few things.

This album is from '05 and from what I hear there is an EP due in 09?!
At any rate, enjoy please. This is a great album.

going to hell, you're riding shotgun.

reason 109,349,823,057,498,572,037 why Philadelphia rules the world.

This is my obsession. I love music that sounds like a Circus--the boarder line creepy eastern european gypsy beat. I can't get enough.  If you hang out with me or ever have late at night you already know how much I love this band. Enjoy.

I love: Mister Jung Stuffed, Poor Jackie, Big Trouble, The Ballad of Butter Beans

I love:Engrish Bwudd, Spider Cider, Black Mission Goggles

then we'll quietly grow old: the saddest story ever told.

The Holidays mean I must traverse home to Chadds Ford from my beloved Pittsburgh. I love home very much but It makes me sick to think that I will not see my favorite part.
or maybe its just sad realizing that part of my history is no longer relevant.

Regardless, a gorgeous time in that history introduced me to one of my top five favorite bands of all time.

Happy Birthday to Me.

Today is my 20th Birthday. Being the exceedingly generous soul that I am, I am giving YOU a gift.

This is Tilly and the Wall.
So much fun, so fabulous. So much Tap Dancing, yes I said Tap Dancing.

I will be listening to this all day because it sounds like a Birthday Party.

Enjoy

Julie Burton

How could I do a tribute to my heros without including this unicorn? Julie Burton is probably the funniest person I know. She is so amazing and talented and loyal. I just really love her laugh. This girl has some great taste in music ta boot! Most of my fondest memories of high school include her; in fact she is one of the greatest factors that contributed to me making it through those ridiculous days. I wish it was july so we could be together playing in her pool.

I can not listen to the song Julia without missing/loving her. Legend has it that her Beatles loving faja named her after this song.

So here's to you Julie Burton. I love your guts.

Favorite Sounds: Julia, I Will, Don't Pass Me By, Blackbird

Favorite Sounds: Yer Blues, Cry Baby Cry, Goodnight

In trouble with the gods.

Caitlin Olszewski is cute.

This girl always makes me giggle. I love her so much. We met in Art which really just couldn't be more appropriate. She thinks I'm a much better person than I am, but I think thats just because she has a great heart. This Summer Caitlin and I (along with one of my other favorite Up-right walking animals, julia burton) shared one of the best nights of my life. We saw Tilly and the Wall at the Unitarian and it blew my mind. Though I always think of her when I hear that gorgeous tap dancing, my fondest musical memory of this panda has nothing to do with them.
Caitlin gave me a mix and the first track was Don't Call Me Whitney, Bobby. I love the Islands and I love that song and I love her.

Favorite sounds: Volcanos, Don't Call Me Whitney Bobby, Where there's a will theres a Whalebone
